Volvo: VQ magazine

Problem: Volvo produced a quarterly magazine, VQ, but the design, the approach, the look and feel was very dated and didn’t feel like aligned with the future vision of the brand. Clunky typography, imagery and a lack of structure meant the spreads felt too contained, busy and different to read and navigate. Volvo want to be seen as a market leader to it’s customers, it’s staff and fleet businesses.

Solution: A complete design overhaul. From the logomark, the grid system, the typography, way finding and navigation markers, to the photography and tone of voice. Produced every quarter, allowed for a mixture of seasonal, inspirational content, business news and interviews with top industry leaders. Presented in a clean, considered manner with a real focus on the craft, mirrored the build quality and Swedish design aesthetic.
