Volvo: VQ magazine
VQ had the content. It just needed the design to match.
Volvo's quarterly magazine had been running for years but the design had fallen behind the brand. Clunky typography, a lack of structure and imagery that felt contained made the spreads difficult to read and navigate. For a brand positioning itself as a market leader, the magazine needed to reflect that ambition.
The overhaul covered everything. Logomark, grid system, typography, wayfinding, navigation markers, photography direction and tone of voice. Each quarter brought a mix of seasonal features, industry interviews, business news and inspirational content, all presented with the same clarity and precision the Volvo brand stands for. The Swedish design aesthetic ran through every decision, clean, considered and crafted to last.
